Parenting Advice

I know I am not a parent and most people would think that I am the last person to give such advice, but hear me out and think about what I am saying. I am going to cover the topic of thinking about the future.

While most couples get married and have children, very few think about their children's future. It is important to understand that children grow up fast. As parents you will realise this and need to have a plan set for them for the future of your children and their children and so on.

Most parents have opted to saying let what happens, happen but this won't work. Others think about educating their children which is a great idea but until when? It is evident that the job market has literally become a who knows who atmosphere. Education has also become so expensive and at the end of the day the children aren't getting taught what is important in a sense that life teaches us more. Education has fallen in quality and this has lead some people to drop out of studying to follow other
interests.

As parents, please don't stop your children from doing what they can do. Many parents force their children to study medicine or engineering. What if your child could be the next Steve Jobs? Or have an innovative idea that would revolutionize the way people live? What if he or she is the next Mark Zuckerberg? Give your children hope and let them innovate.

This is where many parents fail and as a result the next generation isn't happy with that their doing. I was in class one day where I realized that our generations are very different. Generation X is very into work and doing things the hard way. Generation Y is more into getting everything now and living a life of luxury and in many peoples cases fantasy with minimal work. I say that is not a problem, it is better for them to try and get something then never have tried and loose.

I am talking about this on the prospect of a sons side who has just completed his teenage years and is furious as to the future being so unpredictable.

John Adams, one of the founding fathers of the United States, a true visionary stated that:
“I must study Politicks and War that my sons may have liberty to study Mathematicks and Philosophy. My sons ought to study Mathematicks and Philosophy, Geography, natural History, Naval Architecture, navigation, Commerce and Agriculture, in order to give their Children a right to study Painting, Poetry, Musick, Architecture, Statuary, Tapestry and Porcelaine. (12 May 1780)”  - John Adams
This means that we must progress forward with every single generation that comes after us. The future of the society, family and so on are in your hands.

I decided to write about this since I have seen on 965malls in several different occasions they have talked about parents who treat their children inappropriately and rather than do the same, I decided to give advice as to ways of being more understanding. Trying to be positive here :p
